3 day trip through the Sahara desert takes you from Marrakech to Fes in Morocco. At 08:00, we left Marrakech for Dades Valley through the High Atlas Mountains and TizinTichka Pass. We will have time to stop and admire the stunning vistas and Berber settlements along the way as we travel into the High Atlas Mountains. Finally, we arrive to AitBenhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Berber Kasbah has used as thescene for over 20 films by international directors. It was formerly one of the most significant fortified strong holds along the Old Salt Road, which transported slaves, gold, ivory, salt, andsilk from Sub-Saharan Africa to Marrakech and beyond. Following that, we will drive via Ouarzazate, often known as the "Hollywood of Africa," because it is a popular filming locationWe continued on to Ouarzazate We will go via the Berber settlements of Megoun and Skoura before arriving at Dades Valley for the night
After breakfast, we will travel from Dades Gorges to Merzouga, Were we will visit the biggestsand dune of the Sahara Desert, Erg Chebbi. There will be Berber communities along thejourney, including Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud. This is the start of Tafilalet's Saharan oasis. Wemay relax for a little while after arriving at Merzouga before meeting the camels who will takeus on an incredible journey through the sand dunes. As the sun sets, the dunes light up,creating the ideal setting for some stunning photographs. We will be treated to a magnificentdesert feast at the camp, followed by traditional drumming and singing. Overnight, it's anopulent desert tent.
We return by camel to Merzouga after an early morning. You will have the opportunity to shower and have breakfast here before starting our return excursion to Fes. Before continuing through the High Atlas Mountains, we will stop for a cup of tea with a nomadic family. We will stop for lunch when we reach the beautiful alpine village of Midelt. In the afternoon, we will travel to the famous city of Fez, where the trip will end.
